Our students describe their experience in our program as dynamic, interesting, and fun. One way to participate fully is to attend the meetings of the Student Organization for Cognitive Science (SOCS).
SOCS activities include weekly discussions about relevant and stimulating topics. Have dinner with esteemed IU professors, go on lab tours, head out for the movies, or attend a guest lecture—with plenty of food at each event.
Bloomington is a fun and exciting place to spend your college years, offering cultural events, festivals, music, and lots of dining options. Find out what makes our town so special.
We typically meet at noon for a faculty talk and a pizza lunch in Geology Building 1001 E. Tenth Street, Conference Room 3055.

In terms of community and a sense of connectedness, the Cognitive Science Program is unmatched—which is fitting since we study networks. I see SOCS as a great way build our network and hook undergraduates—regardless of whether they are majors—on the wide variety of topics studied in cognitive science.
Mac Vogelsang, President of SOCS, 2017-18
IU and the College of Arts and Sciences offer many opportunities for students interested in studying in another country. You can choose short-term or long-term experiences that allow you to practice another language and explore different cultures.
